 modulated SPIRORAP is used to cover small valves, elbows, exposed sections of pipe, tubing and flexhoses. it is available with or without hook and loop fastener along the edges. installation is easier and cleaner without the fastener, using zip/cable ties to secure the cover after installation. however if the cover will be removed frequently, the hook and loop fastener is the best option.
SPIRORAP is sewn in "modules" and can be cut down to size. to cut, locate the area between the double-seams and use a scissors or box cutters being careful not to cut across the seam and into the insulation. see the image to the right for an example.
installation is performed by starting at one end of the pipe/equipment and wrapping the SPIRORAP around to close all gaps. the cover should be pulled snug to the equipment to prevent sagging or gaps. if zip/cable ties are to be used, add as necessary to prevent unraveling during installation. see installation progression example below.
